Study Moroccan Trope with Rabbi Maroof
Are you or someone you know interested in joining a Youth Study Class to learn Moroccan Trope? Rabbi Maroof will be forming a program soon, date and time to be announced. Please contact the Rabbi to sign up or for questions.
Sephardic Ruach Program - Tuesday nights, 5:30 pm
Children who attend this program will learn the following:
1) Skills - How to chant Torah, Haftara, Shir Hashirim and Tehillim in Yerushalmi and Moroccan melodies.
2) Foundations - The fundamental beliefs and practices of Judaism as illustrated through inspiring stories and discussions
3) Heritage - An overview of the history, culture and variety of Sephardic Judaism
The children will also become familiar and comfortable with various parts of the regular Shabbat service so that they are empowered to participate more actively in the prayers at Magen David.
If your child(ren) can read Hebrew and are between the ages of 6 and 11, we would love to see them join the Ruach Program this year. Give your children the greatest gift of all - the confidence they need to get involved in and excited about their synagogue!
